Academy Sports & Outdoors EDI Compliance
Academy Sports & Outdoors has been in business for over 70 years and has around 200 stores throughout the United States. The company is the fourth largest retail chain of sports goods and pair with popular name brands such as Nike, Spalding, Champion, Wrangler, and Reebok.
Academy provides its customers with sports accessories, shoes, camping supplies, hunting and fishing equipment, a wide range of apparel, and more. EDI compliance is required for all vendors to Academy in order to increase efficiency.
EDI documents are communicated by a VAN (Value Added Network). The following EDI document types and labels have been completely tested by CovalentWorks for precise compliance with Academy’s name EDI qualifications.
Academy Sports EDI Requirements
Academy uses a few different label types when a purchase order is fulfilled. They include a Standard Shipping Label, a Standard Shipping Label with optional UPC code, and a Standard Shipping Label with Mark-For-Store.
Some suppliers are required to include additional carrier information on the label.
The ASN will have detailed information about the items that are being shipped and how they are being transported. For example, the gross weight, shipping carrier name, Bill of Lading number and shipping date will be included as well as information directly from the purchase order.
Academy uses a type of 856 Advance Ship Notice which is an SOPI format. SOPI stands for a hierarchy of Shipment, Order, Tare (pallet) and Pack (carton) and is commonly referred to as “Pick and Pack” because more than one type of item can be included in the same carton.
