Honda EDI Compliance
Honda Motor Co., Ltd. Is a multinational corporation with headquarters in Japan that was founded in 1946. The company has been the world’s biggest manufacturer of motorcycles since 1959 as well as the biggest maker of internal combustion engines. Honda is ranked 8th in the world for automobile manufacturing.
Products include automobiles, commercial vehicles, luxury vehicles, electrical generators, water pumps, robotics, jet aircraft, jet engines, thin-film solar cells, and more.
EDI documents are transmitted over a VAN (Value Added Network). Below are the EDI document types and labels that are required by Honda and which have been fully verified by CovalentWorks for accurate compliance with their EDI requirements.
Honda EDI Requirements
The ASN (Advance Shipping Notice) contains detailed information about the products that are being sent to Honda and as well as transportation information. For example, the date, time shipped, gross weight, SCAC code, trailer number, product ID, and bar coded serial number will be included in addition to data that comes from the purchase order.
Honda uses the STI format for ASN’s. STI stands for Shipment, Tare (pallet), and Item. Two types of STI ASN’s are used. The two types are:
- 850 SPECIFIC
- 862 SPECIFIC
