Medline EDI Solutions
Medline Industries is a privately owned company that was established in 1966 with headquarters in Mundelein, Illinois. The company has over 12,000 employees and in 2013 had revenue of almost $6 billion USD. Medline specializes in the selling of medical and surgical supplies.
EDI documents are communicated through a transmission method called a VAN (Value Added Network). The following EDI document types and labels are mandatory by Medline and have been fully tested by CovalentWorks for exact compliance with Medline’s EDI specifications.
Medline EDI Requirements
The ASN (Advance Shipping Notice) will contain comprehensive information about the packing of the products that are being sent to Medline and as well as freight carrier information. For example, the SCAC code, carrier name, Bill of Lading, date shipped and time shipped will be included in addition to data that comes from the purchase order.
Medline uses the SOI format for ASN’s. SOI stands for Shipment, Order, and Item. SOI is also known as “summary ASN” and does not have as much carton detail information as some other ASN structures.
