Vitamin Shoppe EDI Requirements
Vitamin Shoppes’s suppliers use several label types when a purchase order is fulfilled. They include:
- Carton Only, Single SKU
- Carton Only, Mixed SKUs
- Pallet Only, Single SKU
- Pallet Only, Mixed SKUs
The ASN (Advance Shipping Notice) will contain comprehensive information about the packing of the products that are being sent to Vitamin Shoppe and as well as transportation information. For example, carrier name, carrier reference number, pickup reference number, Bill of Lading, master Bill of Lading, shipped date, estimated delivery, quantity per pack, lot number, expiration date and lot number will be included in addition to data that comes from the purchase order.
Vitamin Shoppe uses the SOPI and SOTPI format for ASN’s.
An SOPI (Shipment, Order, Pack (carton) and Item) ASN is also known as “Pick and Pack” because more than one type of item can be picked from the supplier’s shelves and packed into the same carton.
The SOTPI packing structure is like the SOPI packing structure, except that the cartons are in turn loaded onto one or more pallets/slips which is the T for Tare level of the ASN.
A few examples of these ASN types are:
Loose carton shipments
Palletized shrink wrapped shipments
Palletized loose carton shipments.
